New NEC 25x0 hacked bitsetting firmware 108v3-2/218v3-2

Hello Herrie

I just flash my nec 2500 with this new firmware and I have problem burning my Prodisc +R. I burned 5 prodisc and all burned in the same way, I flash before my nec 2500 with your firmware 2k5107v2b5 and I don’t have any problem with the prodisc brand.

This is the burned dvd information

Thanks in advance

Ray

These are Optodiscs, no Prodisc made discs. What’s the exact problem with them?

Herrie, thanks so much for your quick response!

AN32 is a horrible media IMHO
What PI/PO height it will reach after a 8x burn is beyond my imagination

Herrie, I just burned an Infome R20 @ 8x. When nero went into the verification step the burner locked up at 1%, I had to restart the computer. So far the quality scan looks pretty good, I’ll post a pic.

The buffer underrun actually had trouble twice, and you can see the increased PIF’s in the first half, where they reached 3, and then 2.

Someone has a mirror to this file ?
Can’t seem to get it from rpc1.org

Thx in advance

Hi all of you
First of all I’d like to thank Herrie for his efforts for all of us!

I have NEC 2510A and last night flashed 'em with Herrie’s new firmware.

I burnt Traxdata DVD+R DL 8.5GB on 2.4 speed
Everything seems OK (successfully), but this media both can not play normally on my new home DVD player Toshiba SD-340E and my DVD-ROM NEC.

I’ve tried to archive SW ep.4, but the movie can not play normally - both the sound and the video are interrupt time to time, and the film became run slowlly and the picture are distortion.

Today I run Nero transfer test on my “burnner” NEC 2510A and the picture seems too bad test can’t finished - the error was UNRECOVERED READ ERROR (031100)

pls see attached picture

pls anybody help me

10x

Hello Herrie,

Thanks for your quick reply, I found the problem and I fixed. My clonecd program was the problem. I reinstall the clonecd program and everything work perfect. The new firmware work perfect!!

Thank again for the GOOD JOB!!

Ray

RITEK DL discs are quite crappy! Quite some people have problems with them :frowning:

I had exactly the same problem with Nero and an Infome R20 DVD+R @ 4x. Let’s hope Herrie will be able to fix this.

Must disagree on that one Herrie. It just depends on the brand Ritek DL media. I burned several DVD+R DL brands (RiData, RiDisc, Traxdata) and Traxdata is the best one. But maybe I’m just one of the lucky ones over here…
See also my post in the 'Liggy’s And Dee’s NEC ND-3520 Modified Firmware Beta 2’ thread.

So I’ve recently burned my first DL discs, verbatim

Nero’s verification step completed sucesfully, but the disc will not play in a stand alone player. Nor will it play in my combo drive. I’ve wasted 3 DL :a  discs trying different things. The movie actually plays the standard warnings but never goes to the menu (in the standalone player), in the combo drive it does nothing. Normally I use my combo drive to do an error scan, but I cannot with this disc. This is probably not due to the firmware? I’m guessing

Are you running the very latest Nero? I am, so this could always be a nero bug. I think I’m going to turn off the verification step for now :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m running Nero 6.6.0.3. I also noticed that the DVD wasn’t ejected between burning and verifying.

Mine is 6.6.0.5

The disc never did eject between burn and verification on mine.

This is TY02 burned at 4X. I like to keep the speed down so the burn quality is high. This burn is normal for the T02 media in my burner, the PIE’s are a bit lower.

Hi
DVD recording works really nice but my 2510a does not see any cd’s now. Its trying to read but it fails. When I try to record something on blank disc it says: Power callibration error. Changing different firmwares don’t help. What’s wrong ?

I just stuck a music cd in my 2510 and it plays fine useing winamp.

A note on my earlier post: The DL verbatim disc is read fine in the 2510, but cannot be read in the LG combo drive. I think I might have to learn to edit the ifo files to make it work in the stand alone player (unless others are having trouble).

I really have to disagree on this one, both my 3500 and 2500 (@2510) have huge difficulties burning RITEK D01 discs (received from Conrexx), branded as TraxData (jewel case) or with silver top. The burners fail during burning or don’t even recognise the discs :frowning: It could be I ended up with some bad discs, but I never had any problems with MKM DL discs!

This is a Nero bug, nothing I can do about it. The PI/PO scan looks very OK to me @ 8x. Nero is just crappy sometimes :frowning:
