Hi, I posted the following in another thread (with a few modifications):
I had this same problem with the ND-1300a, no such issue with my Plextor 708A, but it's back with a newly acquired ND-2500a.
If I burn .iso images, it reports:
You are about to create a multi-session write once DVD disc. Session no. 2 and above will not be readable with some DVD-ROM drives and operating systems prior to Windows XP.
How do you want to continue?
Burn multisession anyway
Burn without multisession
Clicking on 'Burn multisession anyway' results in a perfectly usable disc, but if I click on 'Burn without multisession' or try to create a DVD-Video using the Nero template (i.e. drag the VOB files I want to burn into the template's VIDEO_TS) and attempt a burn, the thing starts to write the lead-in before becoming completely unresponsive. The only option I have at that point is to reboot the system.
At first I thought it was due to the cheap DVD-Rs I was throwing at it, but it happens even with expensive / retail / name brand media.
It all appears to come down to whether I'm burning as a multisession or single-session disc. Any ideas on how / why?
