New MKM-003-00 Non Verbatim media

Hello,
I purchased a 5 pack of DL DVD’s by Nashua brand.
They very cheap, the store i got it from is the only one selling them in my country.
Anyway to my surprise IMG burn allowed me to burn on up to x10 speed, never happened to me even with Verbatim.

And when i searched the Disk ID MKM-003-00 i only found Verbatim.

So appears that these cheap DVD’s use same media as Verbatim?

I burned on x6 Xbox 360 games and it worked, now i want to test x10 speed.

Never burned DL media on x10.

btw i have 4 LG GH20LS10 (FL01) Burners.

P.S. My 5th Burner (external SATA to USB case) Pioneer DVR-212D also allows up to x10 speed on this media.

Anyone tested these before? Do you know if there is additional companies who use Verbatim media?

Thanks…

Welcome to the forum

Can you check any codes around the hub of the disc for us, and post them here?

MKM003 under the Nashua brand sounds very suspect to me. Especially if they were cheap to buy.

I run verify on one DVD with Gears 2, it filed verify on :
E 03:49:51 Failed to Read Sector 3428672 - Reason: Unrecovered Read Error

can it be because i glued DVD label before i burned it?

Definitely Fake.

I have found fake MKM003 in the UK under the ‘Prime’ brand (kind of ironic isn’t it!)

They’ve been around for quite awhile now.
