i checked on liteons website but i cant find any info on the new drive. i was wondering does anyone know what speeds this drive writes on cdr and cdrw?
which 48x cdrw…there is a 48125W…it burns cds at 48x and cdrw at 12x…the have just announced a new 48 cdrw…48/24/48(48x cdr/24xcdrw/48x read)
I think that should be 48x Read, 48x Write
AND 12X REWRITE NOT 24x REWRITE as stated by nealh.
It is called LTR4812S-YC30 according to this UK website but EBuyer do sometimes get the model numbers wrong !

Hmm. It dosen’t looks like valid LiteOn manufacture code.
Somebody IMO lost one digit (before S). It may be good old LTR-48125S or may be (there is small chance) LTR-48126S
Let me clearify…the current 48x is a 48125W…48 write/12rewrite/48x read… 5 series mediatek chipset
the new one due out is a 48x write/24x rewrite/48x read…it is based on the 6 series mediatek chipset
thanks for the replies, i was looking for the different write speeds not the max write speed. i have a butt load of 4x cdr and some other slower media. i was needing to know the specific speeds of cdrw and cdr.
thanks all
Oh…sorry …
misunderstood what you wanted…I will be getting the drive i nthe next couple of days and can give the different speeds
Nealh,
If I understood correctly, you would be getting the 48x24x48x. If this is true would you mind sending me the firmware in bin format?
I have a 32125W, currently overclocked to 48125W. I’m curious as to whether it can be overclocked to the new model.
TIA
Jeez…I am an idiot I should have been more clear…I am getting a 40125S(I hope from cendyne) …no I am not getting a 48/24/48…they are not to my knowledge available…theLiteon 5 series chipset cdrw will not take the 6 series chipset firmware as I understand it…the 48/24/48 will be based on the new mediatek 6 series chipset as I understand it
Nealh,
No issues. I was just curious.
Reg. the 5 vs 6 chipset, we can always hope
