Has anyone tested this new firmware with Daxon AZ3 media? Current burn quality on this media with 4163B A106 and 4167B DL13 is complete garbage, so would be interested to see if LG is working on this in newer firmware releases as I have posted results of this media in the mfg suggestion threads.

#4

I would be interested in Ritek F1 results as well as I had burn failures at the CAV to P-CAV transition point on 16x burns with 4167B DL13.

#5

Is there RPC1 version of this firmware?

#6

Not yet. Be patient, it just came out a few days ago! I’m sure TDB will get on it soon.

#7

I’ve found buffalo firmware for 4165B. It’s DN15. You’ll get UDMA 4 transfer mode and lower CPU usage, after upgrading.

#8

Here’s the direct link to it:

#10

Patched DN15, should also flash directly onto DLxx firmware drives (this is not a recommendation to do so, just that the interlock preventing it has been removed). http://tdb.rpc1.org/#GSA4165B

Bravo!!!

#12

Can you patch the 4167B’s DJ13, but to make it anti-rip lock? Is there any anti-rip lock 4165B firmware?
Thanks

#13

can anyone confirm if the new dl05 firmware fixed the need to burn audio at dao/96 so the first track can be read by all of the available cd players out there ?

also what is the difference between the official dl05 firmware and that dn15 thing ?

#14

You’ll get udma 4 transfer mod (if you are using 80 pin cable) and possibly autobittseting. Also, burning quality might increase, but that depends…

#15

Yes, might be several days till we can get to it, the 4165/4167 are practically identical, we just need to apply the rip-lock patch.

I have flashed my LG4165B with DL05fast… so rip-protection… should be removed… but is not… drive still read max 10x rips… and 16x orgs…

drive is on secondary master (UDMA2)…
it burn at 16x with no trouble…

where I made mistake?..
does annyone try DN15 firmware… is it safe to flash
