New LAME 3.93.1

I had spot the news in Betanews.com

There was some noise that the 3.93, that haves a bug in the sound quality , this is probably the new bug free release …

By the way i am the first who brigs the news in this place , i had check the front page of cdfreaks before i post … :wink:

This version is very buggy. Better stick with the 3.92 until 3.94 comes out.

Can you give some more details ? I need more info than one word as buggy ,to make my mind …

There is so much confusion about the Lame stuff …
There is no any clear answer if the problem have to do with any advanced settings or not …

For instance i use the Plextor tools DAE , that is like EAC , but it uses only the lame_enc.dll to work …

If this DLL works fine at 128 bits stereo, this is what the most people need …
Can any one gives a strait answer on that …

No, you can trust 100 % the recommended Lame compiles and recommended Lame settings.

Just plain 128 kbps stereo is worthless. The recommended 128 setting is --Alt-preset 128 for ABR, or --alt-preset cbr 128 for CBR.

The .dll recommended here makes use of john33’s modifications (thanks!) which map certain quality settings to the --alt-presets. Please READ the included explanation of these mappings before using this .dll
