New HD-formats cases are horrible

DVDActive have some of the upcoming Bluray and HDDVD-cases up for display, and boy do they look bad. Why does the movie industry always mess it up? These cases tell to me one thing: “you should print out your own covers if you want something that looks good”.

For instance the
E X P E R I E N C E H I G H D E F I N I T I O N
nagging on the bottom, and the BD/HDDVD-logos on the top. And whats up with coloured shells? I’m buying a movie here, not a console game!

Universals HD-DVD white half sphere-thingy aint pretty either. Plus the golden cut is tossed out the window with the more square format.

I think the cases look crappy. But I know why the studios have done this. It’s so the buying public think they have something new, superior to DVD. I suppose that BluRay is going to happen but I’d rather them settle the format wars first. Also, the general public is going to be really p*ssed off if they can’t play their old DVDs in the new-fangled drives.

Vote with your wallet then. Sounds like you need a HD-DVD machine?
