First test with YUDEN T02 @12x ( TDK DVD+R 8x )
The 12x part gets ugly but…
It reach 16x at the 3.5Gb mark.
Could it reach 17x or 18x speed if it would be CAV al the way up?
5:36 for 4.38Gb is one of the fastests times I have seen so far.
My record is still 5:28min with CMC 16x DVD+R
My other friend raygay managed 5:25min with TDK 16x DVD-R. (- is alway faster)
5:18min is possible with Maxell 16x DVD-R. Hopefully we can see 18x drives next spring. :o

Found a scan of an MCC004 disc burned at 16x on a 4163B on a Japanese message board site. It has to be the best 16x PIE scan I’ve ever seen.
Hm. Only PIE scanned in PX-716A? My result with MCC004 at 16x showed less than 100 total PIF errors when scanning in SOHW-1613S BS41 firmware at 2x read speed and about 125 at 4x read speed. It’s probably just a matter of time to see 4.7GB completed in less than 5:20 and still shows less than 5,000 PIE’s and 10 PIF’s.
Anyway, now A101 firmware is out finally.
(All my GSA-5163D tests were done with A101 firmware.)
It seems there’s no PIF at all except during the 12x zone. TDK YUDEN000T02 must be of the best quality for YUDEN000T02.
5:36 is rather slow for GSA-4163/5163.
