New Comp. came with HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH40L, should I get another burner?

I recently purchased a new HP Computer, which came with a HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH40L drive. The drive seems alright enough and I haven’t had too much trouble with it. However, now that I’ve upgraded my computer, I’d like to re-burn my enormous library of data disks with Verbatim disks now, as well as use them to burn newer movies, instead of using cheaper branded DVDs like in the past.

My question, should I use the GH40L that came with my new computer to do the burning, or should I order a new(i.e. better) dvd drive? I haven’t been able to find much about whether or not the GH40L is any good or not. I did run VSO Inspector program on the drive, which came back with 95.8 percent rating, which was supposed to be alright.

So, should I stick with this drive, or opt for a better one? If so, any suggestions on what other drive I could add would be helpful (I do have an expansion bay drive).

Thanks in advance.
