New BlindWrite - Post settings & results with latest protection schemes

It seems there is still a bit of confusion towards the Blindread settings so maybe a new thread should be created to cover this problem

Copied German UT 2003 Release (Securom4)
with BW and BWA Builder (takes 20 minutes)

readead 8x with Nibbles, with subcodes!
burned 8 x (like how to in the *.rtf)
works with 48125W latest firmware perfect

readed with and burned with.

recognized in 1-2 seconds in NEC5800A DVD and Hitachi GD 7500 DVD

they should read the rft File giving thrue the installation !!!

All they nead is reading this file ! :a

My be they are too young, th have learned reading at school :stuck_out_tongue:

@allmighty: At which speed did you use BWA with your liteon?

it worked for anno 1503 german, too!
reader: dvd-cd-combo-drive of my toshiba sattelite 2800-400 notebook
writer: liteon 24x

unfortunately the disc verification needs between one and two minutes.

does anyone know, whether this can be changed by using another reader/writer or another reading/writing speed when duplicating the original game cds?

unfortunately i haven’t had as much success with the new Blindwrite as all of u guys. I’m trying to backup the Australian release of NOLF2.

My drives are as follows:
LG DRD-8160B DVD-ROM
LG GCE-8400B CDRW

Now i’ve dump an image with BW 4.2.1 using the 8400B at max speed. I’ve created the BWA with both drives at 1x speed.

I’ve compared the resulting graph with a MDS file that i downloaded off the Deamon Tools web site and the one that i’ve created looks quite different.

I’ve burnt it to cdrw using each of the created BWA and even a BWA file converted from the downloaded MDS file. All three have failed.

Can anybody offer some suggestions, maybe i’m doing something wrong.

you really need to build the .BWA of your original. MDS and BWA are different for each game title.

send a pic of your result, and try with different speed using your burner… ( or :stuck_out_tongue: buy another writer

Hello

Someone can help me for this please :

I’m French and i try this on UT 2003 French version

I have a cd who is write with securom new profile with clone cd .

I made an image of this cd with blindwrite suite with sub codes .

I downloaded the mds file for French UT2003 on web site daemon tool .

I converted the mds in bwa file and rename it . 1 second for it .

I write this with blindwrite suite with dao-pw at max speed with correct name of bwa .

The install give me a critical error clean the cd can’t read to unreal.ico ? .

Why that , i have an correct image of game and i have the physical info of the cd .
Both must be good for a correct writing ?

I have a lite on 32123 .

Thanks for explain someone .

Oh yes i tried this with ASPI and then with patin coufin of blindwrite , same result .

i’ve tried it with both of my writers (plex 1210a and lg8400b)… plex’s cds was readable an functionally in the plex only… the lg copy didn’t work correctly… i treif it with the mds file downloadred from daemontools, which i convertet to the bwa format… can someone help me?

@Snifi

If you look at the first page in this thread, I posted my results with a Plex 12/10/32S.
I think you maybe should try to use your Plex and make your own BWA file.

OK - I’ve read all this thread and now I know how to copy new games with the newest Securom protection, but I’m interested in Securom (v4.x…) - how does it exactly work and what are the twinsectors etc.? Is there any article about it here or somewhere? Thanks a lot for any link or “footing” on target

how do i use bwa? where can i find the manual or tut? i made image with bw then used bwa, but when i chose an image the program just closed. is that supposed to happen

Hitman2 copied!

made a ‘bwa’ file with the ltr-48125W (VS08) @ 4x

both read and write were done on max speed. copy verifies under 20 secs.
it actually takes longer the first time… after that it’s really quick.

thanks blindwrite!!

you have to make an image with blindread subs on must use original cd! as clone cd makes no good copy!:frowning:
make with bwatool cd dumper/start mesure at 8speed/save it with the same name as the image /ut2003_cd1/as .bwa file inthe same directory as the image is/burn it with blindwrite no weak sectors ticked as possible pw write

greetz.

Guys remember that NOT ALL the drives can read cds with twin sectors on it. You can see if a drive has problems with twin sectors if it stop suddenly and cannot go further in the reading. You have to use a drive that doesn’t have problems with reading twin sectors!
For example my Plextor 2410A (fw 1.04), Matsushita DVD-ROM SR8585 and can’t read cds with twin sectors. On the other hand my Litey 48125W and my LG 52x can read 'em. You’ve just to try!

what is the size of the bwa file?

I don’t mean to insult anyone as I am new here, but are we all remembering to RENAME the .bwa file to the exact same name as the image created with Blindwrite? For example: if your image is named “UT_2003.bwi” then your .bwa file should be named “UT_2003.bwa” AND it needs to be in the same folder.

Just trying to cover all the bases guys, please don’t take offense. I do stupid things like that all the time. :stuck_out_tongue:
