I picked up 200 TuffDisc today from my supplier (I sell media and this seems to be quite a popular disc for some reason!) and notice that one pack is not the normal 'pebble dash' overprint. Instead, it seems as if they have grabbed a load of white printable DVD-R and stuck the TuffDisc label over them. I have not had time yet to analyse the MID code of these, although from what I can tell by looking at the disc they have the signs of being the MCC 02RG20 code. (All my TuffDisc stock so far had been CMC Mag AE1).
The second spindle also had around 75 of these 'printable reprints' inside, also there are 25 "smart choice DVD-R" (The orange cover didn't seem as strong). Yet I cannot find anyone selling these "smart choice DVD-R". All 100 discs on this spindle share a new pebble dashed finish effect, for your benefit I have compared a old TuffDisc DVD-R with a new one.
(Old on left, new on right)
It all seems very strange!
These discs just confuse the hell out of me, I've had 0 returns and sold at least 2000 in the past month
