2.FD seems to have exactly the same strats as 2.FC, so this doesn’t look like another 2.19 in disguise … so then, the million dollar question is what’s new in 2.FD wrt 2.FC ???

Both FWs have the same file size but when comparing toghether 2.FC and 2.FD the result is: ‘387,893 difference(s) found’. It also appears to have the most recent release date (even compared with 2.19) … Very interesting …

Have they fixed by any chance +R/+RW bitsetting? I don’t even dare to suggest PIPO scanning … perhaps someone can have a look inside and solve the mistery

Well, give it a try CVS and let us know.

Wonder why secret agent 007 Wes hasn’t spyed this one out? Wes your slacking lol

Bitsetting yes… PI/PO quality testing sad to say no

Bitsetting is back (command ver 4), so at least that’s a step forward compared with 2.FC …

Unfortunately, like the previous MadDog FW’s, for this one +RW bitsetting still doesn’t seem to work on used discs …

And like rolling56 said before, no PIPO scanning yet …

OK Let see…
2.FD - Removed RipLock, RPC1
2.FD - changed drive string to NEC
2.FD - changed drive string to NEC, Removed RipLock, RPC1

What a guy…and no-one even asked…Thanks Quikee

Heh… 2.FD Extreme is on the way… =P

EDIT: Done… it’s on the page…

wow realy fast quikee2… you are the man
but why there are so many “new” firmwares…all are the same…no realy improvement or iam wrong ???

And none of them support quality testing :frowning:

yes that is exactly what i mean ;):a:a:a:a:a:a

please nec please give us the error test firmware PLEASE:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

My personal guess for this firmware is that it supports DVD-R DL too now. Just like the latest IO Data firmware.

Thanks for the mods Quikee.
Until the release of 2.R8, it’s all the attention that us 3500A owners get.
