All that is about is Sony is agreeing to let Netflix have movies from its studio
but only 28 days after the movie has been released for sale in the retail market
and not to be rented out the day it is released for sale in retail stores like Netflix
used to be able to do.
Netflix can still rent some movies the day they are released for retail sales but it is
mostly the movies from independent studios and some of the smaller studios.
Take Redbox for instance they are in the same boat as Netflix is, most of the movies
from Redbox has the same 28 day waiting period as Netflix has except for some of the
independent studios and the smaller studios just like Netflix.
Sony has not bought out Netflix or vice versa so all that article is about is it just has to
do with the 28 day retail waiting period nothing more nothing less.
