NeroVision - Encoding/Transcoding Error

vbimport

Yo…I’m new to this forum…

I just got a Maddog 16x DVD Burner and found that my Nero 6 Ultra software also had something for buring DVDs…Nero Vision 2 SE…I am currently running W2K on the PC w/ the DVD Burner…

When I try to burn a DVD from an AVI file using the tutorial on the Nero Website…the process gets about 65%-75% finished…and pops up with an error box stating that the process could not be finished…and giving me a log file to save…I have tried this 3 times and have received the same error log…except for the number of files that are encoded before the error changes each time…

To save space on this forum…I have posted a link below to the entire log file…the last part of the log file however…which seems to be the most important part…is this:

[B]…VOB1 CELL14 VOBU312 VOBU_S_PTM 358980896 VOBU_E_PTM

359025941 (301)

The full log file can be found at this address:

Also…the last time I did it…in addition to this same log file…I got the following error message:

NeroVision Express 2 SE

Unable to prepare data for recording: Transcoding of videos failed: Transcoding of videos failed. (internal error 2013303389)

I have no idea what to do…I have tried burning to DVD and also saving to hard drive and have received the same error message each time…

One thing I would like to point out…one of the errors above states that the disk is full and not enough space left on disk…exactly how much free space should I have for this to work…a DVD only holds <5 GB…and there are 60GB free on the drive I’m using for temporary file storage during burn process…and 20GB free on the drive I’m saving the movie to…

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated…!!!

Thanks everyone!

I have gotten this same error before from time to time in the past, but
my fix might not be your fix. I am a win98se user …not W2K.
(maybe be worth reading anyways)

In my case, it seems like the save file (.nvc) somehow gets corrupt and
causes this condition around the same point as yours. The only way
I can correct it is to reboot, and then redo the whole process from scratch.
re-import the files, remake the buttons and appearance, etc…etc…
but don’t save the project. Burn it right away to a dvd rw.
(then never use that original saved nvc file ever again)

If it burns once successfully, I can save the project reliably at that point.

I think it also happened to me once when i mixed movies of different
resolutions and sizes into one DVD.
You might want to try converting the avi to a different format first
with a another program like U-lead or something.

That could also be a problem with NVE 2. It is a good idea to upgrade to the latest version (3.1.0.0d) and then apply the transcoding patch.
