Nero tells me to insert CD

vbimport

#1

Hello,
I’m about ready to pull my hair out, my nero has worked fine for about a year now and then the other day it quit recognizing that there was a CD in either burner. It will recognize dvd’s, just not CD’s (that us if I haven’t messed that up as well by now). I tried to instal apsi, but I don’t think it installed correctly. I have worked on this issue for two days straight and I’m just out of ideas. I am putting my last logg error below, any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

#2

I’d suggest a hardware problem.

#3

Perhaps uninstalling the ide drivers and letting windows reinstall them when rebooted will help. Maybe a firmware update as well. Did you do anything in particular when it stopped working? Wouldn’t be uncommon for the drive to fail after a year. If you would like to try some different software to rule out Nero, CDBurnerXP is free and works well for the basics. Good Luck.

I have the same problem… I have the LG 5163D A105 and burns dvds w/out a hitch! When it comes to just CD burning… then I have problem!

I wanted to copy some files on a CD w/c is at my existing IDE Toshiba burner to a blank CD that’s in my external burner. I want to have it in multisession so I could add more files later… but it won’t burn… keeps telling me to insert CD at my LG when in fact I have one good blank cd in there!

What gives?

 please help…

oh and by the way, if i switch sources… it works… (like when i copied from the LG external burner to the Toshiba IDe… it worked!) why should that work? and vice-versa, not?
