nero stops and freezes my whole system can’t even shutdown it just takes over my whole computer once i press the red burn thing at the top, nothing works even tast manger can’t close the process nothing

it pretty much is doing pre-compiling and doesn’t even start the process since i don’t see the light on the burner and 0 bits are recoreded on the cd after a cold reboot i go to “my computer” and see the properties for the cd

the funny thing is whith the InCD it works perfect or copying a cd to cd it works just like new smooth and nice going to nero with the same disk cd-wr that just InCD used and that’s it next thing is cold reboot, no matter what version of nero, no matter what cable in the case, no matter slave or master, no matter if just the primary hard drive is connected and burner, no matter if it’s not copy protected - nothing works it’s the same stary, how can it be is

i can’t come up with any solution it comes down to this
cd copy works perfect
InCD floppy like buring of cd-wr’s works perfect formatting everything
cd recording data music is dead as hell even with roxio which i tried with ms media player which is using the roxio engine (same reaction cold boot with scandisk when going back up again)

anybody have the answare to this mistory

Do you maybe have both Ahead’s Nero incl. InCD and Roxio’s burning soft installed on the same system ?
This will allways give problems : you should remove Nero/InCD or Roxio, because they can’t coexist on the same system without giving issues.

My choice would be completely removing Roxio.

What version of Nero are you using ?

Also important is to disable the Windows “build in” writing : disable the IMAPI service under “services”.

first of all it did the same thing when i installed the whole O/S (not because of this but still doesn’t matter) windows 2000 that means it didn’t have roxio on it since media player on windows 2000 cd doen’t have the recording - it’s old version and it only had nero and nothing else later i installed InCD and of course through windows update the newest version of windows media player with roxio engine in it

there goes the roxio theory but thanks for replay i didn’t want to post all the detail because i don’t want to read 1000 paragraph things either rather short answers and questions

how do you do the other things you said IMAPI or build in thing maybe it will help

When I try to burn a CD in Nero, it stops at 9% and gives me an error message. I am pasting the log below incase this helps. I am using a Nutech DDW-082.

My problem turned out to be that my DVD drive didn’t work. I tried to contact NuTech to get the product replaced since it was under warranty. They told me to switch my IDE cable, so I did. After this they would not respond to any emails that I sent to them. So I explained my position to the store I had bought it from and they said that I could RMA the item. I recently got it back, once again it burned about 8 DVDs and 4 CDs fine and now it will not burn any CDs. I would advise against buying any NuTech products.
