#5

My cousin and I just updated the burning rom to the latest verson 6.6.0.3 and now the disc copy does not work. Does anyone have any ideas? It says something like “cannot copy DVD”. I have never had this error before the update.

Yep. I have the same problem. I’ve already sent Ahead an e-mail with the log file. Maybe you should do the same.

#8

Has the H264 encoder been included with the Nero Vision Express update? They said that encoder was to be released around about this time.

#9

Remember all the problems Ahead created with their last Nero update - legally paid for valid serial numbers suddenly no longer worked. The disc to disc copy sounds like the gremlin they’ve created this time. This is really starting to smell like the problems many have experienced with legally purchased games (on CD-ROM/DVD-ROM) not working with their optical drives. In the name of protecting their software, game software companies and Ahead are implementing anti-piracy measures that really cause paying customers a headache. It’s truly a shame that legally legitimate end users are the ones who suffer because of this crap. If Ahead pulls this one more time, they’re going to have several angry paying customers to deal with of whom I’ll be chief.

Because of the above posts, I will not be updating my copy of Nero to v6.6.0.3. With the last Nero update, my legally paid for serial number was treated like a pirated one. It took over a week before Ahead responded back to me and gave me a new serial number. I don’t feel like going through any b.s. again. Don’t these companies get it - an update is supposed to be an upgrade; not a downgrade! :a

#10

Does it do the crazy stuff with serial numbers this time around???

#11

GRRRRR, why can’t Ahead work out some simple file mirrors?
3 times in a row, I get the download to 99% and it freezes and dies. Wouldn’t be so bad if it was actually downloading at a decent speed, but at 10KB this is a real pain.

#12

I downloaded 6.6.0.3 from a South Korean site but my servers are all offline.

Anybody who has more copies of Nero Burning Rom? I probably got more than 50.

#13

OK, I got it from the German site, no problemo and FAST.

#14

Yes, it includes the AVC/H.264 encoder  It produces excelent results but it takes some time.

#15

Just did a disc-to-disc DVD copy with no trouble. Copied a re-authored movie.

#16

Verify error problems with certain DVD burners seems to be fixed and a background audio problem with Vision Express 3 also seems to be fixed.
I’m happier for now!

#17

That weird, I’ve tried using A Plextor 708A and a LiteOn 1633S and I get the same error. I will have to try again when I get home.

#18

I took the plunge and upgraded to Nero 6.6.0.3 and want to report that I’m able to do the disc to disc copy function with no problems. It seems that certain hardware/systems may be the culprit this time; not Ahead. So far, Nero 6.6.0.3 has been working just fine for me. I will continue to monitor it as I use it. For now though, I have to say that it was a very smooth update unlike the last time Ahead updated Nero to v6.6.0.1.

Anyone knows why I can’t get DTS Sound on Nero Showtime? I own the retail version updated to 6603. When I try to playback a DVD with DTS Sound it says “Due to patent license restriction the DVD-Video will be played back with no Audio”.
Anybody else experiences the same problem?

#20

Yeah I’ve had the same thing with DTS and Showtime.
I use Power DVD for DTS movies.
Dunno why Power DVD is allowed DTS and Nero isn’t???
Would be nice if Nero sorted out all these bugs with Showtime, VE3 and their Burning Rom proggies so you could just use the 1 brand.
At the moment you have to use a combination of software to cover Neros shortcomings and bugs!!!
