Nero is NO DolbyDigital 2.0 Encoder

Hi,

I don’t think it’s obvious to everyone, so I post this to prevent others from falling into the same trap than me:

On nero.com the product description says

>>>PowerPack
>>>The PowerPack includes:
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>Powered by:
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>But wait, there is more:
>>>
>>>
>>>Dolby Digital ® 5.1 playback
>>>Dolby Digital ® stereo encoding
>>>Nero Digitalâ„¢

Of course this led me to believe I can use Nero as an audio encoder for DD 2.0. In fact, this was my reason to buy Nero in the first place…

BUT as it seems to me encoding DD 2.0 ONLY works via Nero Recode 2 (when creating a DVD Video), where you end up with .vob files not .ac3 files… I would have expected to simply choose DolbyDigital 2.0 as output format of the Audio Encoder (Nero Launcher–>Audio–>Encode Audio Files). So if you just want your audio files converted to DD2.0 Nero does not seem like the right produkt for you.

Please anyone correct me if I am missing something here! IMHO the misleading info on nero.com needs to be corrected.
