I see there are a few ‘KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST’ messages in the above info. This may be a problem with your SCSI cable, i.e. if your CD-Writer is external. I use to have a SCSI 2x2x6 Ricoh drive and the drive use to keep failing CDs until a bent the cable in a certain direction. Even still, I use to get the occasional ‘Illegal Request’ errors while writing a CD. :frowning: i.e., If too much corrupt data gets sent to the CD-Wirter, the CD-Writer will have to keep rerequesting the data and it’s buffer will likely run dry before it can get sufficient good data.

I eventually gave on my SCSI drive and got an IDE CD-Writer.

My ricoh cd rw is internal so maybe I should check the cable ??
Thanks ppzaz

I got a Sony DRU500A,and am getting
similar errors, only I get ‘Cannot complete
wriite due to Disc-At-Once error’,and my DVD writer is an IDE Drive(Master),while
I have a Plex 2410A,as a Slave. This is after writing some DVD+R’s thru Nero.
Is there an option in Nero to ‘finalize’ DVDs (and CD’s for that matter) if the write isn’t completed? Thanks to all who
reply… PS,this happens after the progress bar is at 100 %,and happens
once when copying a disc from Nero, and
once when wriitng from the hard drive.
HELP!!!

ppzaz

For starters, your Ricoh burner should not have Synch Data Transfer enabled in Device Manager. This is a SCSI setting and does not work with IDE drives. This is probably why the log reports a SCSI bus.

Also, unless you are using it, I would uninstall the Nero ImageDrive. I think it can be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs. It is probably not causing the problem as such, but adds complexity and potential problems.

Defragment the hard drive first if it contains the source files for the simulation. As you are running a burn simulation anyway, I would suggest that you check No Multisession and use Disk at Once mode for the simulated burn. Do the simulation again and let us know the results.

Can someone please reply to MY question now? Thanks…

Where did you purchase the 500A?

Again, ,can someone please answer my question…Thanks

Are you sure Nero supports the DRU500A? It’s pretty new.

Ruffrob,

This thread was started to solve the problem posted by ppzaz. It is not a good idea to post a query about a problem to an existing thread with a complex problem unless the problems are exactly the same. It’s difficult enough to work with one problem at a time, and adding a different one to the same thread just confuses the issue. Also, your impatient and demanding tone in someone else’s thread is not appropriate.

I suggest that you start a new thread about your problem, and post the Nero log like ppzaz did. Give us as many details as you can, and be patient.

Inertia,Ive posted these, and similar questions without any real response in the appropriate forums,so this was my last resort, since the problem was in fact very similar. I don’t mean to come off harshly, and If I have ,I sincerly apologize
but I just need a good answer. Thanks for your attention.
