Nero Fails to burn dvd-video, eveytime!

Hi guys, n00b in the house

I need some help with this one, as it really starting to do my head in.

I have a generic dvdrw IDE H16X and untill about 2 months ago worked fine. But now for some reason, i can burn any dvd-video in nero, or any other software. It’ll simulate or burn about 30% and then for no reason, BAM! nothing…I can burn any other type of dvd, roms & iso, just not the video kind.

I’ve saved a couple of logs from nero, hoping that they could help, the first ones below:

I thought maybe update the firmware, but i hear its risky and cant find a relevant update for my dvdrw IDE H16X firmware ver: B02U

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, mad love!

I’ve seen this kind of behavior before on a family member’s machine. We could burn CDs without issue and just about anything else but not a video DVD. In the end the machine needed a chipset driver update and then worked flawlessly. If you have a Dell, Gateway, HP or any other major OEM vendor check their site for the update. Otherwise you may have to find out who supplied the chipset for your mobo. Very common are VIA and Intel. Also, your physical memory is kind of on the low side you may want to try to free up some memory by unloading some programs that don’t need to be running during the burn. Hope this helps.
