I am using the latest version of Nero in a Windows XP computer. My recorder accepts dvd-r or dvd+r. When I try to copy a dvd with a dvd+r disk, I get a message asking for a dvd-r disk and I can't do the copy. Is there a setting in Nero to allow it to accept dvd+r or is there some other reason why I get that message asking for a dvd-r disk? Thanks.Richard
Need more info. What DVD burner (make/model) are you using?
It is an external dvd burner: Memorex 1394/USB 20 Drive IEEE
It could be that the DVD you are copying exceeds the +R size so a -R is required. That's only a wild guess.
rich10, what is the exact model of your burner? I've never heard of Nero specifically asking for a -R disc, so I'm wondering if your drive supports +R media. If it doesn't, then I could possibly see Nero telling you to put a -R disc in.
Hitman,All it says on the external burner is Memorex dual format, dvd recorder. Part 3202 3288. Manufactured 2005.Richard
My LiteOn burners do the same thing when I try to Copy a DVD-r on the fly (QuickCopy). It says a DVD-r is needed to copy to.
Nero Supports both the +/- DVD media as well as DVD RAM and +/-DL media, make sure your recorder has the latest firmware which updates the 'rom' chip on the Memorex drive which helps the drive support more of the different brands of media thats on the market.
