Nero Changed DVD+RW to DVD-ROM

I used Nero to erase a TDK 2.4x DVD+RW, then I tried to burn a file to the DVD+RW and Nero says insert the proper media or something. Nero now shows the disc as a DVD-ROM. DVDinfopro also shows it as a DVD-ROM and will not erase it.
I am using Liggy and Dee’s firmware 219bt_rpc1 in a NEC 2510a burner.
Is it possible to restore the now DVD-ROM back to it’s original DVD+RW format?
If not how do I prevent Nero from changing my DVD+RWs into DVD-ROMs?

That means the disc has not been completely erased try to use Nero full erase.

ImgBurn (free) is also good at doing a full-erase properly. Might be worth a look.

Ditto :iagree:

Many users complained about problems to erase rewritable media with nero and imgburn was able to recover these discs

I’m not 100% sure if NEC drives are really able to properly erase a DVD+RW disc.

That’s just a thought after reading so many people complaining about being unable to change the booktype of a DVD+RW once a disc has been burned. I might be completely wrong.

Ok, i can live with +rw and not -rom  thank’s for the reply Liggy.
