Nero CD-Speed C2 Check question

vbimport

#1

Sometimes, when I run the quality check, Nero reports some C2 errors near the end, but, when I run the check again (because of the slowdown the last time, the drive now reads the disc at 8x for some odd reason), at the lower readspeed there are no errors.
Is this normal or some odd bug?
Are C2 errors not something fixed, but something that also depends on the drive's ability to maintain read quality at high speeds on fuzzy media?

C2 errors are corrected errors. I don’t understand why you get these C2 errors… it looks like your drive is not good at reading at a higher speed than 8…

C1/C2 error correction itself is fully deterministic, the
same bits always give the same errors. However,
retrieving bits from a cd is not a deterministic process,
because it depends on a lot of mechanical, electrical,
optical, etc factors. Therefore you can get different C2
errors with the same disc depending on the various
conditions of your test.

When did you get your new status? Cool!

DoMiN8ToR decided that a week ago or so.
