Nero cd burn error

vbimport

#1

I just bought a USB burner (6x4x6) which came with Nero (5.5.3.2). I have
was having problems so I upgraded to Nero 5.5.8.2.
I had a bunch of MP3 files (about 55 minutes worth) that I wanted to burn
into an Audio CD. I get a series of errors after the last file is recorded.
The following is a subset of the Nero error log:

All of the error messages originate from the first error (“SCSI timeout (2), 30000ms”).
Basically, nero has sent a command to your writer to close the disc as it has finished writing the data. This would normally be followed by writing the TOC (Table Of Contents) so any CD-R would be able to find the data. It’s at this point that your writer decided to ignore Nero for some reason and nero times out (i.e freaks out after 30 seconds) and abandonds the writing.

This could be a freak occurance, or something more serious.

  • Did the disc eject after Nero failed?
  • Does nero recognise your drive properly (the same make, model number and firmware revision)?

If the answer to the above is yes then I would check to see if there is a firmware update for your writer. Other than that I would probabally return to your previous version of Nero for the time being.

Hopes this helps.
