Power calibration error - you’re trying to burn to a dvdrw ? first make sure that burn speed is set to 2.4x in nero before starting the burn, but these errors are almost always bad media. i know im my case they were, and all i did was use a new blank dvd+rw and all was well

#3

so i should buy dearer media?

#4

not necessarily. it could be that one disc that is the cause. also try setting the burn speed to match the rated speed of the disc [like 2.4x, 4x ,8x…] if your burning app allows. go to google.com and search for Power calibration error ,you’ll get alot of opinions [)

#5

Power Calibration Errors can also occur when a drive is becoming faulty but as Ghosters says try a different brand and see if that cures your problem, cheap media is the cause of most DVD burning problems. Also try re-doing the rip with DVD decryptor, and the other thing to check is that your file will fit on a blank DVD, what size is the total output file?

Do you have problems burning to other types of media?

Does it read DVD copies/originals ok?

EDIT I’ve just noticed that you only have 42Mb of free memory make sure all other programs are closed / disabled whilst trying to burn as this isn’t helping your problem.

#6

I have changed the media but that does not seem to work, do you think my drive is broken :frowning:

#7

has this problem just begun ? is there a firmware update available for your drive ? can you burn CDs without trouble? can your burn a small data file to DVD ? can you try the drive in another PC ?

#8

im useing a pioneer drive in a laptop, but i use it allll the time, so im like constantly burning. i will try the things u said and get back to you
