Nero burning problems

Hi there,

I am having a lot of problems burning DVD’s with Nero. It used to work absolutely fine but now i seem to be getting “could not perform end of disc at once” and “writing short lead out” errors. I have read the forums and enabled my DMA by uninstalling and re-installing my secondary channel but still no sucess. Would really appreciate some advice. Here is my log …

What have you changed recently? Nero?

Have you tried different media?

Just a thought…BTW, welcome to CDF!

Hi thanks for your replies. I haven’t really changed anything recently … using the same version of nero and the same media that a few weeks ago was all working fine.

What are you burning?

update Nero.
Most burners doesn’t like to be SLAVE’d.
Use better media and don’t use Multisession mode.

Just trying to burn Windows Media Player files onto DVD-ROM (iso). Also happening when burning onto Video / Audi TS files to DVD Video. I’ve now updated Nero (using 7.0.5.4 demo) and updated my firmware but now NERO can’t even seem to read any of the blank DVD’s (both R and RW) that i am putting into the drive - just keeping opening my drive and chucking the disc out at me - saying waiting for disc and please insert the disc to be written too.
Any other advice? Cheers in advance.

Someone else told me to install IN CD - i’ve done that as well without success.

Remove INCD and DLA! Bad programs! Worse than a virus and worm together!

I had buckets of trouble with nero so i tried using roxio instead and that didn’t work either so then i got thinking that is wasn’t a problem with nero. so i tried updating the firmware on my drive and adjusting bios settings and burn speeds and still nothing. so after 50 failed attempts at burning dvd’s (i had a whole 50 pack of memorex 16X dvd+r’s) i went to the store to get more and while i was deciding what kind to get a thought occurred! maybe it was the dvd’s. so i got a pack of fujifilm dvd-r’s and it worked the first time and everyother time after that!

try using a higher quality brand or +r/-R (which ever you weren’t using)

Memorex media is bad.

Get some Verbatims.

What about imation media? Are those bad as well?
