No mention of what codecs are available for 4K encoding?

#3

Good question, here is some more information about 2014, but I can’t find anything about the codec…

Are you planning to get it CDan?

#4

Only available as free upgrade for users who buy Nero 12 after the 9th of september???
Or for every Nero 12 customer???

#5

What about Nero 13? No Nero 13, maybe they’re StupidStitches!

#6

Now with even more bloat? IMHO, Nero started going downhill after Version 6. Did it ever get any better?

#7

Nope it didn’t. Nero Burning Rom is all I need. I don’t need all the crap the bundle with it. I think Nero Burning Rom is still a pretty solid burning program.

I usually manage to track down a “lite” version of nero which is basically nero burning rom + a couple extra programs (not the big bloated real version).

Nero Burning Rom hasn’t changed that much over the years (except for adding in new optical formats as they’ve become available).

Yeah, I have 11 installed (well a small part of it anyway) and I don’t think anything of importance to me has been added since 6. I don’t even use it for burning any more, I prefer Imgburn.

That only mentions “upconverting” to 4K, which is very different from actually creating or working with 4K video.

Anyhow, no I won’t be getting it. I’m still quite happy with Nero ROM v8. Nero would be my last choice for editing, encoding or transcoding anything.

I feel the same way Zod, I use Nero burning rom 8. The Micro version from this website…
