Nero 9 Runtime Error

Hello again. Can anyone help please.

I have windows 7 64bit. I have been trying to find a version of Nero that works with 64bit Win 7. I found that Nero 9 Lite free edition is supposed to work so I downloaded and installed it. However, when I try to run it, I get a message. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. This has requested to terminate the application in an unusual manner. The details are copied below. :-

In Programs I see I have Microsoft Visual C++ and the same (x86)

I have no idea what these are, or what they do. I did read on a forum that these were a problem with Nero, but I can’t find the forum again.

So please can you help.
Thanks so much.

Well thanks, it’s definitely not resolved.

I read about uninstalling Nero, uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and the same (x86), and replacing those with the 2008 version, so Idid that, and re-installed Nero lite,, which I read is supposed to be compatible with Win 7 64bit. But I still get the same error message. It’s so frustrating.

Please can someone help. If I can’t get Nero to work, what else can I use? I know Win 7 has a CD burning capacity, but I need to be able to add a few images at a time, ie make a multisession disc, until it is full, then close it.

Have you contact Nero to ask your problem question? Also when you downloaded the lite did you also make sure it was the lastest veresion? Did you know if you use 64 system you need to install m$ visual x64 software not x86 software. That might be where you problem is as well cause on my win7x64 I have both version of M$ visual 2005, 2008 in x86 and x64 installed. Reason is that I still have software that will use the 32 and some that will use the x64 version.

Thankyou for that suggestion. Unfortunately although I have downloaded and installed the x64 versions of M-Visual C++ 2008 and 2005 and the SP1s, Nero still gives me the same error message.

Any more thoughts, please?

I sent you a PM.

Thanks for your help. I decided to go for A-Shampoo. Works a treat and its free. Got rid of Nero.
Thanks again, till the next time, R
