Nero 9 and BENQ 1620 firmware

I have a benq 1620 DVD burner with G7Z9 firmware. I assume that the firmware is old as it won’t work properly with Nero 9 for burning 2 layer DVD’s. What I believe I need is WinDWFlash and the appropriate flash file to upgrade my burner. Any idea hwere to get WinDWFlash and the flash file?

Updating the firmware (if this isn’t the last G series firmware) won’t help much with this old a burner.

You don’t mention which type of DL media you are using. The only reliable DL media that is widely available is sold under the Verbatim brand, and with this old a burner, I’d use the 2.4x-6x version rather than the newer 8x disks from Verbatim.

You’d be better off investing in a newer burner, like an Optiarc or Pioneer to burn expensive DL media. If you are trying to burn anything other than Verbatim to double layer, then that is particularly apt.

Edit: To answer your original question look at the Dangerous Brothers site for the list of BenQ 1620 firmware. Since you are now using a G series firmware, only use another G series doing a straight flash. http://tdb.rpc1.org/

Thanks for your input. Yeah, I know it’s old but hoped it would work. I’m using Memorex 8X DVD+RDL blanks. Guess I’ll just save for a new one as it would be easier.

This media is crap.
Get Verbatim DL.
