Nero 7 updates?

Hi Everybody,
My Nero 7 product center update check showed about 7 available updates of Nero 7 applications, including Burning Rom, BackItUp, Nero Vision Express and a few more apps.
But when I checked for Nero 7 updates, on the Nero homepage, the last update was dated last July. which I have.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue ?

Yes indeed Nero7 has updates…? After the patching -> validating installation-> and updating/removing files then a required reboot! …So far besides stealing file associations which I quickly did away with…I have yet to ascertain if this “update” has “borked” anything…

I’m a little skitish about updating for a while .

After reading your reply and the AfterDawn Thread I decided to burn a new disk with verification on ( I primarily only use Verbatim DVD-R disks).
During the burn leaving the session open on a new disk I experienced no problems and here is a snapshot of Process Explorer during the burn ( I was also defragging one of my RAID-0 Arrays at the same time-hence the Perfect Disk CPU cycles)

So…for me the update has not caused any issues and may very well have fixed some things–All I did after the required reboot from the Nero update was to reboot once gain and run checkdisk then later ran the offline defrag and online defrag using Perfect Disk to optimize everything as I normally do after a big install or major software update…

I will continue to explore some of the other features in the coming days and post back if my gut feeling that using the Nero Product Setup to actually get an update as opposed to a clean fresh install actually worked just fine for a change!

I wonder if they just like to be negative about Nero @ AfterDawn.

It looks like the Nero updates, via the Nero Product Setup are working well for most people. So I’ll give the updates a try.

I updated to Nero 7.10.1.2 and then I opened the updated applications .
When I opened Nero BackItUp, I recieved the error message I’m enclosing a image of.
Anyone have any ideas what it means ?


It means that Nero should have fixed v7 before releasing v8.
