Mitsumi Europe has announced their latest CD-recorder, the CR-487ETE. The drive is capable of reading and writing at 52x while re-writing is done at a maximum speed of 24x. Our thanks goes to valy for submitting this news:
Mitsumi will launch the highly efficient CD-ReWriter CR-487ETE, which is capable of reading CDs at 52X the speed and writing on CD-Rs just as fast, onto the European Market at the end of January. Thanks to the support of the new Ultra Speed standard it is capable of reaching 24X the speed with CD-RWs and it is of course downwards compatible. |
The drive is capable of supporting Mount Rainier 100 per cent, through which the user for example can use a CD-RW per Drag&Drop like a hard disk, if he uses the corresponding software. The CD-ReWriter supports enhanced IDE and Ultra-DMA Mode 2 and has a data buffer of 2 MByte. When the product is launched the price will be approx. 100 euros incl. VAT.
