Excellent suggestion allxsan! I got Nero 188.8.131.52b to install flawlessly this time around!
This is what I did:
Remove Nero 184.108.40.206b from Add/Remove Programs, reboot.
After startup locate the “ahead†key in the registry.
The ahead key can be found by typing “regedit†without quotes into the Run program. Then locate [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ahead].
Change write/read permissions to that key by right clicking on “ahead†then locate and click “permissions…†in the drop down menu. The “Permissions for ahead†dialog box will appear.
What I did now since I have an administrative account was to click on my user name under the “Groups or user names:†section and change “Full Control†and “Read†to “Allow†then click Apply and Ok; these are located under the “Permissions for User Name†where User Name is your user name for the account on your computer. I also set the System user’s Full Control and Read to Allow as well.
Once your user account has full permission to write/read to that key go ahead and reinstall Nero and it should work. If it fails again set all the Groups or user names to Allow for Full Control and Read.
Nero Vision still has a conflicting issue with McAfee Antivirus, where the program will just not boot, hopefully on next patch this issue will be fixed.
