Nero 6 or Ulead Movie Factory, Which will get me the most data on the DVD?

I have Nero 6 and also have Ulead’s DVD creation software, Movie Factory. I have created a couple DVDs using Movie Factory, but seem to be limited to about 1.5 hours of data. The advantage of Movie Factory is no file conversion is necessary, as it takes the MPG file and takes it through the whole conversion process until the DVD is created.

I haven’t used Nero 6 yet because it seems to need the data in a VOB file format before it will use it to create the DVD.

HOW DO I GET THE MOVIE DATA I HAVE FROM THE MPG FORMAT TO THE VOB FORMAT SO I CAN USE NERO 6??

Is there a “down and dirty”, simplified explanation of the process I need to use. I am using a Pioneer DVR-A07-XLA recorder.

Any help (and you can’t be basic enough for me) will be appreciated.

I personally use TmpGenc DVD author to take the mpeg-2 file (and audio) & convert to vob’s. However, this is not freeware.
Many people use IfoEdit , which is freeware , as this has a DVD authoring function. I can’t recommend this as I’ve never used it but I think it’s quite good. A google search should find it.
