Nero 6 doesn't recognise mp3's anymore?

I have a strange problem. Up until now Nero 6 worked perfectly, but now it’s saying that it doesn’t recognise mp3’s, even if I try to add them under all files*.* it still says “file format not supported”. How can I get mp3 back on the list?

I did install a few other programs recently, but can’t see how they make any difference to Nero.

Any time you install new software it CAN effect exsisting software!!!
How? Because in Windows, there’s lots of files that are “shared”…So, if one of those new programs overwrote a much needed dll (Dynamic Link Library), then Nero will no longer see it as something it uses…You should reinstall nero to correct the problem…this should re-write the necessary files back in…

Hello everyone.

I’ve been trying to write a program with Nero SDK. I started with the basic NeroFiddlesCom example and then build my program on top of it. I’m now facing a new problem. When i burn mp3’s as audio cd using the common dialog i get a proper audio cd burning with the kit. But, when i tried using a list where i am storing the paths of the entire audio cd then i get a weird message saying that the file format is not supported. Also then the path to the file also changes. I’ve got no clue why this is happening even when i’m adding the paths to the list from the common dialog itself. If i could get some assistance it’d be of great help. I’m attaching the log file.

The file format is not supported.

Please post a reply if you can find some problems with the code.

Try to restore your system registry to a week or two back reboot and see if the problem has been resolved.

Can anyone please help me with my previous post on this thread? I’m stuck with this problem when the rest of my project is completed and i have a deadline to meet. So, if someone could kindly look at my code and tell me what the problem is. :frowning:

You can always send an email to Nero Customer Support and ask for help.

Perhaps you should have posted in the Nero SDK forum.

I did both. I both mailed them and posted too. But no response:( i really hit a wall now and i just can’t figure it out at all. Did anyone of you try to see what might be the problem?

I wonder if it is a filename or path problem. Is:
“Bryan Adams - Summer Of '69.mp3” a legal
ISO9660 file name. I assume Nero recognizes
MP3 files by reading the filename extension.

I was thinking the same too. But, when i use the common dialog and browse to the file directly instead of picking it up using the code and put it inside a list it seems to work perfectly. And the strange thing is that when i give the list to the program its not taking the complete path it seems to truncate a part of it. The file path which shows up in the log file is C:\Documents and Settings\Anirban\Desktop\Nero\NeroSDK-1.08\NeroCOM\Samples\NeroFiddlesCOM\Bryan Adams - Summer Of 69.mp3

While the actual path is C:\Documents and Settings\Anirban\Desktop\Nero\NeroSDK-1.08\NeroCOM\Samples\NeroFiddlesCOM\Albums\Album 1\Bryan Adams - Summer Of 69.mp3

I tested the paths using msgbox as popups for the paths and they seem to be complete but the burning process is not showing them no matter what!!! I think the path is the main issue but i still can’t find out the problem. The program needs to take the list from the combo box rather than from the common dialog via browsing. Thanks for the reply and please let me know if you can find some problem.
