Also a new problem i have is that i will try to burn a data dvd and the time will run out after like 4mins and the session will be 4% complete. then i i abort out of session i cant open the dvd drive. the green light just keeps blinking and i have to restart to get it open. ~Sigh~

Hi,

I suspect, this is the real problem:

I doubt, your writer supports this media.

Michael

In that case, you might consider crossflashing your drive with this firmware.
http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/1653S.CS0T.patched-cf-mcled.rar
It turns your drive into a 1653, with the benefit of being able to use most dvd’s now on the market.

 Leo

ahhh i just bought a bundle of new dvds. ill try one of my old ones and see what happens. how do i do the crossflasshing thing. im know a little about computers, b ut not a whole lot about this…do i use omnipatcher? i might need this in a step by step. then when i crossflash ill be able to use most dvd discs? thanx for all the help

Well i went back to the other cd’s that worked. and i got a burn process failed…ill give the log again…but i think this line is the problem.

Hi,

This is problem #1
There is a sticky about this in the general optical drives section.

Recorder: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1213S, Media type: DVD-R
Disc Manufacturer: PRINCO -
Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193

Problem #2
Princo media is considered crap.

File ‘Drivers\InCDfs.SYS’: Ver=4, 3, 23, 2, size=102016 bytes, created 3/23/2006 5:15:58 PM (InCD4 driver for win NT/2K/XP)
File ‘Drivers\InCDpass.SYS’: Ver=4, 3, 23, 2, size=29440 bytes, created 3/23/2006 5:15:56 PM (InCD4 driver for win NT/2K/XP)

Problem #3 Uninstalling InCD isn’t a bad idea.

Michael
