I burned a ripped DVD with the following:
Software: Nero Burning Rom SE (6.6.0.14 Sony Edition)
Disc Type: DVD+R (Sony 8x (Taiyo Yuden))
Burner: Sony DRU-810A
Compilation Type: DVD-Video
Book-Type: DVD-ROM w/ High Compatibility Mode
When I played on my DVD Player the picture was distorted with lines going up and down the screen. Audio was distorted as well. My DVD player has played other DVDs I burned with Nero in the same manner.
When I played burned dvd on my computer using Power DVD it was almost normal BUT there was some pixelation during parts of the movie.
When I played .vob files on the dvd separately it played perfectly clear.
I did a file comparison on the files I burned and the files I had on my hard drive and they are exactly the same. HOWEVER, when I checked the settings (when playing on Power DVD) there was the following differences in the configs for playing:
Burned DVD: Player Region Code: 1, Title Region Code: 1,2,3,4,5,6, Video Mode: Weave, Video Bit Rate: 9.0 Mbps, no Audio Bit Rate listed, Number of Subtitles: 5
Playing VOB file (separately in Power DVD): Player Region Code: none, Title Region Code: none, Video Mode: Bob, Video Bit Rate: 6.66 Mbps, Audio Bit Rate: 192 kbps, Number of Subtitles: Not Available
