Nero wma plugin doesn't work

I’m trying to convert .wma files to .wavs . I have downloaded and run the plugin, and in the ‘file encoding’ section .wma is now an option. However, when I select a .wma file the ‘file encoding’ box informs me that it cannot open the .wma file I have selected.

I’m running Windows XP, and have an old HP8250i CD-RW, but I don’t think that any of this is the problem.

Does anybody have any ideas ???

I think that the file that you are trying to decode has “Digital Rights Managment”, which is a copy protection scheme. The best way that I know of to decode it is to set your record mixer source to WAV and record with nero wav editor and save it to mp3.
