I have a problem with nero Versions 4.91 -5.0.0.9 (4.88 works) On my windows 2000 system if I try to make an audio cd from mp3’s on a cd. the files are checked ok if there any gaps in the file names then I come to burn nero bombs out with a “No such file or directory” error. CDRWIN 3.8a will write the cd’s ok also. Anybody got any ideas

below are the relivent bits from my PC

Uhhh…delete the wnaspi32.dll that is in your Nero directory. It doesn’t work on 2000 prior to version 5.0.0.3 of Nero.

Also…delete that piece of shit Ez-Cd crap creator from your system!! It screws up a lot of “REAL” cdr software from working. If you enjoy that “AOL” of Cd software, then use it…but forget about running anything else, as the propreitary EZ CD shit screws up a bunch of other things.

thing is I have some stuff that won’t go to audio cd in nero but works fine with EZ cdcreator and thats the only time I use it. Anywhy Version of nero 4.88 does work as expected so ahead must have changed something

Right here is the bust brand new spanking clean hard drive Nero 5.0.0.9 no other software on except windows 2000 no aspi drivers other than neros try to make up an audio disc from mp3’s on a cd in my cdrom if there are any gaps in the file names of the mp3’s the compilation fails on the write with a file not found error . With Nero 4.0.8.8 same setup works fine. Oh and yes I have put the wnaspi32.dll recomended by ahead in the Nero Folder.
Correction to the above all files not just ones with spaces in. Works if making an image file though

Ok…well…if you insist on using an older version, then you must also delete the nerocdnt.sys file, as it will cause other problems…including, but not limited to, killing hibernation and suspend mode support. In any case…I would still recommend using system ASPI layers, rather than the Nero one.

Thanks sorted deleted ‘Wnaspi32.dll’ out of the nero folder and Nero 5.0.9 works with Mp3 on cd’s (obviously you have to have adaptecs aspi drivers installed) I think. Anyway I can now use Nero 5 on my windows 2000 system. Must be a bug ahead added sorting out some other problem with there ‘Wnaspi32.dll’. Cheers I’m burning away
