Needed firmware update for Iomega CDRW9600INT-B

Hi
The following links for firmware update of Iomega CDRW9600INT-B are not working. I receive a password incorrect message.

ftp://customer:download@203.117.145.18/firmware/24x10x40/CDRW9600INT-B/5os3.EXE

ftp://customer:download@203.117.145.18/firmware/24x10x40/CDRW9600INT-B/5os4_1.EXE

Does anyone have these updates or working links to these updates? Please reply to this thread or mail me if you have any information.

Thank you

I would say just flash it with Lite-ON LTR-24102B firmware as those are pretty old anyways and were not official from Iomega either.

Hi
My cd-writer is Iomega CDRW9600INT-B and the firmware version is 5OS2. As suggested by dhc014, I tried to upgrade with the LiteON firmware.

I downloaded R245S5A.zip(http://www.liteonit.com/webfw/LTR-24102B/R245S5A.zip) from http://www.firmware-flash.com/~dhc014/oemcollec.htm

When I tried to upgrade I received a warning stating that the flash utility supports only LiteON-IT LTR 24102B drive with firmware 5S50-5S6Z. I clicked yes to continue. The message I got was

Can’t find LTR-24102B firmware: 5S50-5S6Z

Can you suggest me what to do?

Thank you

Well, first please make a backup of your 5OS2 firmware using mtkflash in DOS, see here: http://dhc014.rpc1.org/mtkflash.htm
Please send me the backup to my email (in my signature) for my collection.

After you have a backup, you can use a program called FlashFix to patch the updater from Lite-ON so that it will flash your OEM drive. Get FlashFix here: http://digi.rpc1.org/flashfix.htm

Hi
I will send my firmware to you(dhc014). Is it enough if I upgrade with only 5S5A or should I use all the other versions also?

Thank you

You can just flash to 5S5A. The best way to flash is to use MTK WinFlash with a binary firmware though. I’ll reply to your email with a binary version of 5S5A.
