I have a pixelview geforce 4 ti 4200 with a video in plug. dos enyone know where to download a demo of a program like that.

I assume the card came with some cheap capture software that you can play around with but that’ll only allow you to capture from the video in port on the card. It won’t allow you to ‘tune in’ to any stations. You’ll need a tv-tuner card for that.

year i know it is cheap but i have set it up, so i can tune in whit my “video recorder” (tape recorder). i just need af better program. do you know anywhere i can download a demo of a good program?

You could always go down the Adobe Premier route, but that may be a bit more than what you require, plus I’d be unsure of whether it’d work with your card. Unless anyone else knows different?

Perhaps you like iuvcr better then?

i have downloaded the programs, but i don’t think eny of them look verry professional. there must be one famious program for tv watching. just like Nero burn is for burning. microsoft moviemaker look much more professional than these three programs.
thanks in advance

Well, the most famous freware program for easy capturing and editing video is VirtualDub, but to capture with it you need vfw capture drivers, or the wdmvfw wrapper. I don’t know if it will work with your capture card. Personally I use AVI_IO to capture video, which also uses vfw drivers (I use the wdmvfw wrapper with my ATI card). It works very well with my setup. Then I mostly use avisynth and virtualdub for simple editing. And finally I encode to DVD with Mainconcept mpeg encoder 1.41.

I can’t understand why you think Windows Movie Maker is a professional software? Look at Ulead Media Studio Pro, Vegas Video or Adobe Premiere if you want something more professional. But they are mainly optimized for DV video editing and capturing through firewire from digital camcorders. I have used Uled Mediastudio Pro for my DV editing and it is nice when you need transition effects and titles.

To learn the basics of analogue video capturing you may check out this page: http://www.lukesvideo.com/

For easy watching TV and recording directly to DVD compliant mpeg2 I use the bundled software that came with my ATI All In Wonder Radeon card, ATI Multimedia center. But this one only works with the ATI cards.

You may want to try intervideo WinDVD Recorder or Cyberlink PowerVCR II. I think they look a little bit more professional than the freeware programs but they may not be any better in quality of recordings.

the program i am looking for dont have to be freeware. i just need a demo if it isn’t
i didn’t know that windvd could be used to see tv. how does it works?? i have windvd, but have never seen any tv configuration. it would be great if i could watch and record tv with windvd.

I’m not sure if these programs will support your video card but if you have WDM drivers iuVCR and dscaler should work fine.
