I have a Toshiba Satellite 5205-s703 with a Toshiba SD-R6012 dvd writer (1x DVD-R). It has been nothing but problems. It barely ever has burned any DVDs. It now has trouble reading DVDs too. I want to replace it. I have my eyes on a Toshiba SD-R6472 (Multi DVD-+R 8x and dual layer). Is it possible to just open up the laptop and swap components. Is there much more to it. I hear that Toshiba’s have a lot of compatibility issues when upgrading. Anyone that has done this before or have any experience/ideas please write!! Thanks so much in advance. Merry Christmas.
