Need PC card to USB converter

I have an old Sony CRX85A/A1 CD/DVD player that used to plug into an old Toshiba laptop through a 16-bit PC Card. I have a new Asus Eee 1000HE netbook that has only USB ports. I want to be able to use the old Sony CD/DVD player with the new netbook. Does anyone know of a converter?

The converters I have found converts old laptops to give them USB ports, not the other way around. I want to plug a PC Card devise into something that will allow me to plug into a USB port in my netbook.

USB 2.0 DVDRW drives are so cheap these days you’d be better off just buying a new drive. There are lots of suggestions about which is the best if you do a quick search of the forum.

So there is no other option for you but to buy a new external drive.
