well i had a friend that his hard drive stopped working, so like any good friend would do, i gave him one of my old 150g hard drives. Now i guess i will just have to get a new one…
i dont need a terabyte drive, the 150 was plenty big enough but could always use more. I see sata 2 hard drives…i have an older board that has sata. are these drives compatable? any good deals post them up…i can always count on the freaks to point me in the right direction…

Your post will probably be moved (it’s in the wrong section)
If your shopping in the US NewEgg and Buy.com always have something decent on sale.

Best deals now are for 500gig drives.
And yes SATA II is backwards compatible with SATA I

Yo-

IMO - Seagate is the best hard drive on the mainline consumer market-

Here are all Seagates - by best rating - on Newegg-

The clear winner is the 250gb - at the top of the list - for $60 - here:

I own several of these - and they have worked for years-

Hint - when you get your new harddrive - it should have a jumper in the back - be sure to look at your current drive to see if the jumper is in place (SATA I) or removed (SATA II) - then leave or remove the jumper according to your existing drive-eh!!
