Need LL0C firmware for Liteon LH-20A1H - Liteon pulled it from their site

I updated the firmware on my LH-20A1H to LL0D, which was released by Liteon a few days ago.

My drive became very unstable, unable to read discs properly (as if the disc suddenly went bad) until I reboot.

I want to roll back to LL0C, but Liteon has seen fit to pull it from their site.

Every single hit so far I get when I try searching for it on Google or even here just links back to Liteon (http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/LH-20A1H/firmware/RW20LL0C.zip), which is now dead.

If ANYONE can help me find a mirror for the LL0C firmware, I’d be very appreciative! :stuck_out_tongue:

Here you go. Just scroll down and you will see LLOC stock > http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares.html

The link works as i just tried it.

Here you go, from CodeGuys: http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/stock/20A1H.LL0C.stock.rar

Thanks for the LL0D info BTW, I haven’t been keeping up to date

Edit: Hahaha, Bob was way quicker

Was there a particular media or format you were having trouble with when you updated the firmware??? What kinda errors where you getting? I going to download it tonight and give it a test but if you can give more info as what was happening would help the rest of us whom own 20A1H LLOC units…

Thanks for the links guys, I’ll bookmark that site for the future!!

I didn’t get any error messages, the drive just became unstable. By that I mean that after I boot, after a few burns the drive starts to have problems reading discs. Nero CD-DVD Speed acts exactly the same as if a bad media is inserted (slow down / speed up, bad sectors, etc.).

Reboot and all is fine again, using exact same media.

Using only Verbatim DVD+R and Verbatim DL DVD+R media. The instability so far has only occurred with DVD+R (single layer).

LL0D is here:

As you can see, it was just released yesterday. I usually wait a couple of months before updating firmware to make sure there aren’t any issues like this with it. I should have known better.

(I love how all Liteon firmware updates always only say “Match more media” for the release notes. Like (for example) when they fixed the Lightscribe slowdown problem for the LH-20A1H in a firmware update, they made no mention of it whatsoever, only “Match more media.” :))

No problems with LL0D here. I updated yesterday and have burned a TY, a Daxon and some RW’s meanwhile, all looking good. No issues recognizing previously burned and booktyped DVD+R’s either.

It was released 12.03.2008. Look inside the zip file.

Those are the file dates, not the public release dates.

But, it’s only published to Lite-ON website on 24-3-2008.

Just Liteon global site for LH-20A1H firmware and seems like it is back now to LL0C firmware…maybe they found a bug or something wrong there cause I know I did see also the LL0D firmware…but its not there now…???

OK, on the us site for lite one they have LL0D firmware but on the global site they still have LL0C firmware?? so which one is newer and does D mean its newer ???

#11

D is newer.

firmware goes 0 to 9, then A to Z, typically. The greater the number or letter, the newer. Most of the time, only the last character has to change. [In the case of 20A3-series test firmwares, the second to last character has had to change, too.]

Typically, global is newer. But regional sites sometimes have stuff global doesn’t [as you can see].

This is in fact the link I used to download the LL0D firmware. The release date still says 03/24/2008. But it is now changed to LL0C. Well that tells me something I guess. :stuck_out_tongue:

D is newer. (C comes before D :))

You’re right, the US site has the D.

Well I downloaded LL0D from us site and flashed the firmware and so far haven’t had any problems reading blank media or backing dvd movie media. Seems like I keep it with the LL0D firmware.

LLOD has been fine for me. Here are some scans.
