Windows XP home SP2 is not recognizing my LG DVD-RW (18x dual layer, SCSI) as a Recording drive and i cant burn data cd’s/dvd’s from explorer as a result.
All programs like itunes and imgburn burn discs (cd and dvd) without problem, but i cant drag and drop files into the E drive (labelled as DVD-RAM (E : ), and which ‘properties’ reveals is merely a CD-ROM), which is a shame because i need to burn data cds for uni fairly often.
Attempting to drag and drop files to or just explore the drive simply prompts me to insert a disc (not a blank disc, mind) and with that done, i am told ‘the drive is inaccessable, incorrect function.’
I do have daemon tools installed, but even when its not running the problem persists, and i tried the regedit solution microsoft recommends, no help there.
so far i’ve found no-one else with this problem and its really starting to bug me, so any help would be rockin.
i’m not proud of these specs, but if they help…
