Need Help W/ Malfunctioning 1633

vbimport

#1

Well, I guess I went and got excited about switching my firmware, and now look where it’s got me!

I Have a 1633 and flashed it to 1653 (cstj). No problems and good burns (other than the fact I couldn’t flash back to Bsos and get the results I was having before the cstj flash. Anyway, things were going well, like I said, and then I went and tried to Nero quality check a pressed dvd. Can’t remember the error msg there, but no big deal.

But the next DVD I tried to burn I got the following error msgs:

Ok…hold the phone. I may have ‘Panic Posted’. I just was able to burn nicely another save movie off of my hardrive… so maybe my problem was only with one particular project. That would be odd though, as I burn that file once before with no problems. Maybe it was with the help of Decrypter and not just a nero compiled and burned project that allowed it to burn succesfully. In any case, I’m back up and burning for the time being… if only for just this one dvd.

Thanks anyway guys… next time I’ll try testing a few other things first before I Panic!

That error is to do with you missing a file for your dvd video nothing to do with your burner.

Mr B,

Yeah… after furthure research, I came to the same conclusion. It just turned out to be an unfortunate coincidence where my drive erred on reading a pressed CD (which I found very odd, and remembered a recent similar thread posted just the other day), and then just happened to try to burn a saved file which, unbeknownst to me, had a missing file. I jumped to conclusions, I guess, thinking that the drive somehow got screwed up trying to read the pressed CD.

Sorry 'bout that.

I flashed my 1633 to the 1653 CS0M and when I used AnyDVD and tried to extract files it would give error instantly, I went back to 1633 BS41 and no problem reading the disc. I never did a burn test since I could not read the files. Anyone have any ideas why it would not read the disc and BS41 would.

I udated to BSOY firmware and unit will only recognize cd’s…NO DVD’s at all…no movies, dvd-rw…dvd+r’s…NO DVD’s period…this is my third Lite-On…unit

Try (cross)flashing with CS0T. Get it here:
http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/1653S.CS0T.patched-cf-mcled.rar
I had a bad flash once with my 1633, the first time I flashed CS0T. In my case no cd’s were recognised. Flashing back to BS0S solved the problem. After that I reflashed CS0T and I’m still a happy user. It’s worth a try.
