Need advice on DVD+R DL brands

Thanks to information I found in this website for the past couple of years I have consistently made good quality videos with little/no time degradation using Taiyo Yuden Premium 8X DVD-R Media (supermediastore).

I want to improve quality of my videos and have successfully written to Sony DVD+R DL DVD’s. Based on history with the 8x DVD’s I am dubious about the quality of Sony (or any local store stocked) media.

I have searched CDFreaks for information with limited success, not sure if I am doing something wrong. Would appreciate any advice on DL media
brands, where can purchase,etc.

Verbatim +R DL is the only DL media consistently recommended. To search the forums, terms to look for are Verbatim DL, Mitsubishi and some would argue that Made in Singapore is preferred.

Thanks for the info I will check out.

As well as the great advice given, I have had some good luck with Philips 8X DL, made in Taiwan.
