This may be a little obvious if you are already using a larger screen tv,but when we bought our lcd earlier in the year I almost got a larger model than I did.I kept admiring lcd’s at WalMart then I started to notice some bothered my eyes if I watched for a few minutes. So,I went home and measured how far my sofa was from our normal tv viewing. Then when I went back,I started standing the viewing distance from the various models. The result was I choose a smaller screen and I am happy I did,our lcd tv fits our smaller home just right.
Good Point. I ran across this on viewing distance:
However…we had crt monitors on our computers…now we have 19" LCD monitors…the wife says that the crt’s were easier on her eyes. However…I notice she views the LCD monitor closer then I do…
I will be viewing the TV from right about 12 feet.
I am now undecided about the size…mostly because of price. Not only do I need the tv…but I will need some sort of stand for the tv, cable box, dvd recorder, and stereo…as the big 54 inch I have now…I pack all these items on top.
Also…I am considering an extended warranty…if I do this…I may just buy online…the extended warranty that newegg offers is reasonable and they come to your house to fix/replace…they say?
I am waiting for the sales this weekend to see if they have any good deals.
Wal-Mart also has a frills free unit by sanyo for 50" plasma for $1000.
Circuit City had the Panasonic (Plasma) TH50PX80 for $1149 last week…should have jumped on that one…seems after reading up on it…it is a nice unit.
If I go to 42’ or even 37" because of buget…I may get an LCD…
I am still pretty confused on what to buy.
My big screen went from a small band of static…to working as long as I did not turn the unit off or the cable box…so I could deal. Now it seems the red bulb or logic for the red bulb went…so I am now in black and white…which is what I had in the 70’s lol.
The wife is visiting my son.(for a couple weeks)…so no matter what I end up getting…it most likely will not be the right thing
