I need a program which can embed subtitles to an avi file. I searched internet, but all I could find is “AviSub” (v 1.8) which is not working at all. If someone know where I can find this kind of a program, please post.
For people who need the same thing - I found exactly what I’ve been looking for here. It’s very easy and gives excelent results.

Thanks pejakm for posting the link, and yes it’s great for adding subtitles to Avi movies.
Serif make a pretty flexible package it also includes video superimpose.

Hi, i have encountered a problem with muxing my .avi file( FFVII : AC ) and my srt file together, and if anyone can help me, please! thanks.
ive followed the instructions on (http://divxstation.com/article.asp?aId=100) until the part where it says "Once the software is installed, we can continue.
The next stage is to load a video file into VirtualDub, by simply using the File > Open menu command. For the purposes of this demo, I will be subtitling a Battle Royale II DivX movie with SMIL format subtitles. " that part =/
the problem is i cant load it! what the prob is is that when i try to open it says :
" Could not locate decompressor for format ‘XVID’ ( unknown )
Virtualdub requires a Video for Windows ( VFW ) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as these used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."
can any1 help me?
Probably that avi file is encoded with xvid. Install direct show xvid codecs and you’ll be fine.

I use AVI ReComp . It surely does its job and its easy to use but its quite slow.
