Need a help with cdr/dvd

Here’s the problem:
I started to burn my files on CDR with NERO and then at the very beginning process was stoped with some error (don’t remember now) and that’s it CDR is done. There’s nothing on it and still I can’t use it anymore. It’s empty but NERO says that I can’t write on it anything.
Exactly same thing with DVD.
Is there any chance to use these kind of CDR/DVDs. Some soft maybe.
My friend told me to try Alcohol 120% but I couldn’t figure out how. He doesn’t know either, he never tried.
Anyone any ideas?

Have you tried the software isobuster to look at the media to look to see if there is any data written to your media?

Not yet but I’ll try.

So I tried. And it show me 3 files around 600mb. But my computer says 0b - total size and 0b - free space.
???

could you provide a burn log.

Actually it is not really possible. B/c it was pretty much long time ago, a few months ago. And I don’t really remember what I was trying to record on CD/DVDs at that time.
Just I tried some other forums and couldn’t get any answers. And few days ago I found out this forum. So I’m trying to get some help here.

if all you want is a data cd, nero is great but if you cant get it to work, use Quickburn by Ghosthunter . very simple, just drag, drop and burn.

uninstall using the nero uninstall tool and reinstall to the latest version of nero.

verbatim brand cd/dvd’s come highly recommended around here.

Well, thanx for adwise. I’m using NERO7 and have no complain to it. Just sometimes it makes some mistakes with burning cd/dvds. It writes 4-10mb or so and then shows error. Whole cd/dvd almost clean but b/c of this error (4-10mb on cd/dvd) I cannot write on it anything anymore.
What I need is if anybody can tell me is it possible somehow still to use it cd/dvd for burning some data on it.
Thanx in advance.

That error info is needed!

Skip Alcohol!

Which error???

I’ll try to figure this out which error it is exactly.
I need time for this, sorry.

where can I find this info?
sorry couldn’t find it.

if you are trying to convert and burn Divx, Xvid or AVI files to dvd then try apollo divx to dvd. if you want to burn data cd’s use quickburn by ghosthunter. as for audio cd’s nero burning rom has always been a winner for me however you may have more luck with clone cd or pinnacle instant cd.

the ‘info needed’ is the burn log which you said you could not locate. you say that you have no complaints with nero but you also are here looking for help because you are having trouble with nero??? if isobuster is reading 3 files around 600mb and windows shows the disc is empty then your disc are now useless.

if you could please try another cd-r/dvd+r burn, if the burn fails post a burn log. this will provide the information as to which error it is exactly. also the log will tell what kind of burner and what brand of media you are using.

In here, usually there are several logs together. It’s important to get the correct one to determine the cause of your problem. Below is an example of 2 seperate logs back to back, each assigned thier own color to make it easy to see what one complete log looks like.

Note that the logs have dates and times and that the most recent is at the very bottom. When you have located the correct one, simply use your mouse to highlight it, right click and select “copy”. when you want to post it in a thread, just right click and select “paste”.

OK I found out the reason of my problems with recordings.
Here’s the log file

And I checked power cable of my ext DVD/RW - it has some small problem that I will fix. Cable shakes too much that’s why connection not so stable.

But still my Q to this forum little bit different.
So can I use those cd/dvd or not?

This media is crap, you are low onmemory and the burner has a connection problem too.
